He chose Peter who had denied Jesus thrice to preach the first sermon after the apostle and the others were baptized with the Holy Ghost and God replaced Peter's fearful spirit with the boldness from the Holy Spirit. Peter reminded the crowd of God's longstanding promise to give His Spirit in Joel 2: 28 - 32 We all need the boldness of the Spirit to declare the whole counsel of God especially in places we meet people whom we hold in high esteem. Many preachers change their sermons when their listeners are those who have given them something or the other.
