Monday August 14 Bible Reading:      Rev. 12: 7 - 12 Topic:                   The Overcomers The two groups of overcomers mentioned in today's passage have at least one thing in common - they stand on the Lord's side! First, Michael and the other Angels who chose to obey God overcame satan and his demons. With this defeat, the entire host of demons lost their place in Heaven and were pushed down to the earth (vs. 7 - 9) The Second group of overcomers, obviously human, also overcame satan "by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony" (vs. 10 - 11) Every time satan is defeated in our lives and circumstances, we reaffirm the victory shout in v. 10 that, ". . . . . . salvation and strength and the Kingdom of our God and the Power of His Christ have come . . . ." How should we employ these two weapons today...

Friday June 23 Bible Reading:      Gen. 17: 12 - 28 Topic:          Run to Jesus For Salvation The young men had an opportunity to hear about heaven and hell preached to them clearly and convincingly but they decided not to give their lives to Christ. They did not answer the 'what if heaven and hell prove to exist in the end?" question Unfortunately as these two failed to consider this question, so there are many who have likewise ignored this question. The second coming of Christ and God's sure judgment that will follow, we can compare with God's judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah (v. 14) Lot seemed like a joke to his in-laws and the people of Sodom. They did not escape for their lives and were thus destroyed by brimstone and fire.
