Daily Fountain 2017 - 251117 - Humbled To Be Exalted

Saturday November 25 Bible Reading:     Phil. 2: 5 - 11 Topic:                  Humbled To Be Exalted 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, …. 8 … He humbled Himself and became obedient to … death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him … This passage is one of the most challenging in the entire Scripture. Generally, we are all very protective of our reputation and would do all in our power to protect it when it is threatened. However, Jesus who was sinless and perfect, and therefore had a reputation to protect, deliberately made Himself of no reputation. In response to His obedience, humility and sacrifice, God exalted Him and gave...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Make Your Life Acceptable To God

Sunday July 16 (Trinity V) Bible Reading:      Romans 12: 1 - 8 Topic:                   Make Your Life Acceptable To God The dictionary defines sacrifice as the act of giving up something highly valued for the sale of one considered of a greater value or claim. In this state, everything else is considered as inconsequential when compared to the value placed on one's relationship with his Maker. God is pleased when we who profess love for Him reset our priorities to accord Him the position He deserves in our lives. Verse 2 calls for a change of mindset as we feed on the World of life and allow the light therefrom to direct our lives accordingly. This will protect us from being overrun by the world and make our lives pleasing to God. Speaking from his personal experience of God's grace, Paul urges every believer...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Give Them All To Jesus

Friday June 30 Bible Reading:      Gen. 22: 1 - 14 Topic:          Give Them All To Jesus! God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac which humanly speaking was a very hard thing for him to do. However, on hearing from God, Abraham promptly obeyed. He took Isaac and his servants to the place of sacrifice. As Abraham took his knife to slay his son, God stopped him and showed him a ram caught in the thicket by its horn. This experience served to confirm that Abraham really feared God and loved God more than he loved Isaac his only son. The offering of Isaac was a prototype and a foreshadow of that of Jesus Christ by God. Abraham was willing to offer to God his best, his only son and the one of his old age. Abraham did not count it too much for him to give Isaac to God as a sacrifice. God gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. We learn from ...

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Consider It Worth Doing

Wednesday May 17 Bible Reading:      Gen. 14: 17 - 20 Topic:          Consider It Worth Doing Abram fought to rescue his nephew Lot who was captured when Sodom, where he lived was subdued in battle. Our environment, friends and associates influence our lives and that of our families. Many people today are in prison because of bad company. Be mindful where you live and the company you keep because they can make or mar your life. Abram's sacrifice for the freedom of Lot is worth emulating. Considering his past experience with Lot (Gen. 13: 10 - 11), it would have been easily justified for him to attribute Lot's ordeal as the consequence of his misconduct, but he showed genuine love and concern. Be the Abram of your own family. Do your best to save your relatives. Many of them are under the bondage of sin, your intervention is greatly needed. Organize pr...
