Thursday April 13 Maundy Thursday Bible Reading:      Matt. 26: 17 - 29 Topic:          This Is My Body Jesus last meal with His Disciples occurs in the last week of His life, immediately preceding His arrest and crucifixion. The substance of what the Passover foreshadowed has come. The Passover was celebrated in commemoration of their ancestral exodus from Egypt. In our passage today, Jesus takes the bread and wine and gave thanks according to Jewish practice and then He redefined their significance and made the Disciples to partake. In the setting of the Church, the re-enactment of this ritual is what we know as the Lord's Supper - Holy Communion or the Eucharist.
