The disciples failed to understand the deeper implications of the Life and Ministry of Christ hence Peter rebuked Him when He talked of His death. Jesus had to set the record straight. Following Him would bring suffering and His disciples must choose to die daily to their own desires and live only for His will and purpose in their lives.
