Daily Fountain 2017 - 071117 - Unity And Grace In Jesus Christ

Tuesday November 7 Bible Reading:     Eph. 2: 11 - 22 Topic:                  Unity And Grace In Jesus Christ We Gentiles will better appreciate our position in Christ Jesus if we remember that we were excluded from the commonwealth blessings of God's people Israel until Jesus sacrifice on the Cross changed our fortunes. All those who through faith receive Him as Saviour and Lord have their sins washed away and they become members of one holy and united family. Thus every wall of demarcation is broken. There is no more Jew or Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, black or white, poor or rich, high or low for we have all become one family. Can you imagine one such big fellowship of believers of diverse nationalities and colours serving and praising God with joy and gladness in their hearts. It gives God great pleasure and He responds by mani...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 3110 - Because Of Grace

Tuesday October 31 Bible Reading:     Rom. 15: 14 - 21 Topic:                  Because Of Grace People view grace as a lazy man's way out of the demands of God. Grace is seen as a relief from duty. Two persons do the same thing in the same way and get different results, Why? Because one has grace for it and the other does not. Therefore grace specializes a man for duty. Paul still has something to offer to brethren who are filled with goodness, knowledge and capacity because of grace. Grace does not allow him to rest. It drags him to duty, it makes him seek where Christ has not been preached so he could preach Christ there also. When people are struggling and quarreling to do God's work, striving over members, engaging in adverts to corner people from other denominations and engaging in packaging in the name of ministry, it is because t...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 3010 - By The Spirit Of Unity, Grow And Serve God

Monday October 30 Bible Reading:     Rom. 15: 1 - 13 Topic:                  By The Spirit Of Unity, Grow And Serve God The theme of unity Paul began to treat once he began to teach how Christians should behave, from Romans 12: 9, in love for all including our enemies (vs. 17 - 21); he elaborated in Romans 13 to indicate the need for a viable Christian witness, that involves our submission to the authorities. In Romans 14: 1 through Romans 15: 1 - 13, Paul tells us how in fellowship of God's Church, Christians should bear with one another in strength and weakness over every department of life in the choice of what to eat or to drink, wear, e.t.c. and not being judgmental or "destroy a brother for whom Christ died" What God wants is that in His Church, those who are strong should get along and bear with the inadequacies of the weak amongst them ...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 0610 - The Grace Of God

Friday October 6 Bible Reading:     Rom. 9: 24 - 33 Topic:                  The Grace Of God The Jews were the chosen people of God who witnessed His mighty acts in Egypt for forty years of their journey in the wilderness. Nonetheless, they rejected God, but it was so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled. A small remnant of the Jews will be saved (Isa. 10: 2 - 23) The Jews sought righteousness but did not find it, while the Gentiles who were not searching for it, found it. Israel tried to be saved by works and not by faith. They rejected "Grace Righteousness" and tried to please God with the "law's righteousness" Israel's rejection, means the Gentiles salvation. Their fall made possible the salvation of the Gentiles by the grace of God. All non-biological Jews in today's world are the Gentiles. God's offer of salvation is not to only biol...

Daily Fountain 2017 - The Work Of God

Saturday September 30 Bible Reading:     John 6: 28 - 40 Topic:                  The Work Of God The people thought in terms of works. They thought that by doing good works, they could win God's approval. Jesus corrected the people's concept of salvation by works. Nobody secures favour and acceptance by God because of works. People receive God's favour and acceptance because of a work - one work - to believe "in the One He has sent" (john 6: 28 - 29) To believe means to commit, to entrust. It is believing in Jesus as the Saviour and Lord of our lives and committing our lives to Him. The crowd that asked Jesus this question was likely expecting a long list of do's and don'ts or activities to be carried out or rituals to be obeyed and observed but Jesus said there was only one work - to believe in Jesus. A lot of worshippers today have ...

Daily Fountain 2017 - By Strength Shall No Man Prevail

Thursday September 14 Bible Reading:     1 Sam. 2: 1 - 11 Topic:                  By Strength Shall No Man Prevail When Hannah dedicated Samuel to the Lord at Shiloh, she expressed her gratitude to God in prayer. This time, her prayer was not that of petition but praise (v. 1). Her heart rejoiced and her horn was lifted high. The Lord did it for her. Weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning (Ps. 30: 5) May this also be your experience in any matter for which you are waiting on the Lord. In her song of praise, she recognized the futility of man's effort without God and the Sovereignty of God in her life and situation. Her experience of barrenness gave her the priviledge of seeing different Attributes of God. In. vs. 2 - 8. she saw God as Rock, Omniscient, Omnipotent and a Perfect Judge. What would your song of prai...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Dispenser Of Heavenly Grace

Friday September 8 Bible Reading:     Luke 1: 39 - 55 Topic:                  Dispenser Of Heavenly Grace Mary was humble enough to visit her Cousin, though chosen by Heaven to be the Mother of the Saviour of mankind. Elizabeth in v. 43 noted this by saying "who am I that the Mother of my Lord should visit me." This is unlike the character of some men and women today when they receive blessings of promotion. They suddenly become too proud to relate with others around them and even attend Church activities. This ought not to be so Note also that in Luke 1: 41, when Elizabeth heard the sound of Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb and she became filled with the Holy Spirit. The result of Mary's greeting was an impartation of the Holy Spirit and a physical response from a human womb. What do you carry and dispense to people around ...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Walk In The Lord

Sunday July 30 (Trinity 7) Bible Reading:      Gal. 5: 16 - 26 Topic:                   Walk In The Lord Paul laboured among the Galatians, teaching them the Gospel of salvation by grace alone. Unfortunately, other teachers came after him to teach that they needed faith in Christ plus their own human effort. This upset Paul so greatly that he denounced these teachers of what he called "another gospel" in the strongest possible terms, saying they should be accursed (Gal. 1: 6 -9) He pointed out to the Christians that no one can be justified by works (2: 16) because if that were possible then Christ would have died in vain (2: 21) He went on to show them that the problems they were having in their lives and fellowship was because rather than rely on the power of the Spirit, Who alone can help them live godly live...
