21 Great Bible Verses About Giving (What Does The Bible Say?)

I decided to do a little study to find a bunch of verses about giving just to help me get my heart back to where it needed to be. These are 21 of the more popular giving Bible verses – feel free to add others to the comments… Deuteronomy 15:10 Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 16:17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you. 1 Chronicles 29:9 Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly, for they made their offering to the Lord with a whole heart, and King David also rejoiced greatly. Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Proverbs 11:24-25 There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, and there is one who withholds what is justly due...

Bible Reading For Today - Sun261117 - Heb. 9: 24 - 28

24. For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;   25. not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another—   26. He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.   27. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,   28. so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. May the Lord bless the reading of His Words in Jesus Name, Amen

Bible Reading For Today - Wed221117 - Phil. 1: 19-26

19.    For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ 20.    According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death 21.    For me to live is Christ and to die is gain 22.    But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour, yet what I shall choose, I wot not. 23.    For I am in a strait betwist two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better 24.    Nevertheless, to abide in the flesh is more needful for you 25.    And having this confidence, I know I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith 26.    That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Chr...

Bible Reading For Today - Sun191117 - John 5: 2-14

2. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.   3. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.   4. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.   5. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?   7. The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.   8. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.   9. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and wa...

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

4 Financial Lessons From Solomon

The Bible says that Solomon was the richest man who ever lived and also the wisest ever to live (1 Kings 4:31). According to Constative , his Net Worth was over $2 TRILLION.  I think that makes him qualified to give some financial advice. I know there is some debate over whether or not Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes, so just in case he didn’t we can use the alternate title of: ‘Financial Lessons from someone wise. ‘  1. Money Does Not Satisfy He who loves money with not be satisfied with money… – Ecclesiastes 5:10 Loving money is a dangerous thing. Some people spend their entire life chasing more and more money thinking that it will bring them satisfaction, only to never actually attain the satisfaction they were searching for. True satisfaction only comes from God . It doesn’t come from getting married, a bigger house, a Mil in the bank, or being retired. What is interesting is that when we take our focus off of getting more money and more things, then the...

Christian Encouragement Quotes

I love inspirational quotes from other Christians. Write one of these quotes down and try to read it a few more times today. God will not be absent when His people are on trial; he will stand in court as their advocate, to plead on their behalf.   — Charles Haddon Spurgeon You are valuable because you exist. Not because of what you do or what you have done, but simply because you are .  –Max Lucado Be assured, if you walk with Him and look to Him, and expect help from Him, He will never fail you .  –George Mueller The stars may fall, but God’s promises will stand and be fulfilled.   –J. Peace Scripture Quotes For Encouragement

How great is it to open the Bible and read words from the Prince of Peace giving us quotes to live by. John 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid . John 16:33  I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Romans 8:6   For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Philippians 4:6-7  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Colossians 3:15  And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful

Comfort And Encouragement Bible Verses

There are times in everyone’s life when we need encouragement and comfort. The Bible is great for this type of need also. Deuteronomy 31:8   It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Psalm 9:9   The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 23:4    Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;  your rod and your staff,  they comfort me. Psalm 55:22   Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Matthew 11:28-29  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lo...

Should You Read Or Study Your Bible?

I grew up hearing preachers talk all the time about studying your Bible.  It seemed that so many emphasized that you should not simply read the Bible like you would any other book. I felt guilty if I didn’t read my Bible.  Then I would also feel guilty when I read it thinking that I wasn’t reading it slowly enough. Or, that I wasn’t doing Greek and Hebrew word studies as I read.  All this talk about having to study the Bible (and not just read it) got me paranoid to think that whatever I did it would not be good enough. Are you paralyzed with your Bible reading?  Allow me to tell you that it is OK for you to read your Bible.  If you want to take 3 months and study one word in the Bible, you are welcome to do that.  If you want to read the entire Bible in a week, then that is fine too. I think we have been told for far too long that reading your Bible like you would read any other book means that you are not spendi...
