Daily Fountain 2017 - God's Favour Exalts

Saturday March 25 Bible Reading:      Luke 1: 26 - 38 Topic:          God's Favour Exalts Angel Gabriel's message to Mary - " .... you are highly favoured, the Lord is with you ...." (v. 28) shows that Mary had received divine favour therefore she was chosen in preference to all women upon the earth to be the mother of the Messiah Mary was not the only girl or virgin in Israel but her life of righteousness, humility, devotion and faithfulness must have attracted divine favour and this exalted her from the position of a "common" or poor virgin girl of Nazareth to being the Mother of the Messiah. Her song in Luke 1: 46 - 55, reveals her deep faith and devotion to the Most High God. Joseph was another individual who received divine favour and God made him - "governor over Egypt and Pharaoh's entire house" (Acts. 7" 9-10; Gen. 42: 6) God's favour through King Davi...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Be A Caring Christian

Friday March 24 Bible Reading:      Matt. 27: 55 - 56 Topic:          Be A Caring Christian Caring is simply attending to the welfare of another person or reaching out to others in need. It goes beyond sympathy which is feeling sorry for the person, to actually doing something to alleviate their need. It is love in action, exemplified by God Himself when He sent His only begotten Son to die for the sins of the world (Jn. 3: 16) The women mentioned in yesterday's reading ministered to the physical needs of Jesus and His disciples out of their substance (Lk. 8: 3) In the passage today they exhibited their love and care for Jesus by following Him even to the cross at Calvary. They did that to reciprocate Jesus' love to them as mentioned in Gal. 6: 6 - " Let him who is taught the word shall in all good things with him who teaches" Every ge...

Daily Fountain 2017 - The Help Ministry

Thursday March 23 Bible Reading:      Luke 8: 1 - 3 Topic:          The Help Ministry Today, Luke highlights the Ministry of the Women who used their resources to care for Jesus and His Disciples: Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Suzanna and many others whose names were not mentioned. They were not alone. Acts 9: 36 - 42 also records the wonderful ministry of Dorcas who cared for widows and other needy people. The Scripture also records numerous examples of others who used their resources to support godly ventures and receive special blessings. The generosity of Abraham to the Angels of God in Gen. 18: 1 - 14, fast tracked the fulfillment of the promised child Isaac (Gen. 21: 1-3) The hospitality of the Shunammite woman to Prophet Elisha (2 Kings 4: 8-17) resulted in her having a son. The faith and charitable disposition of the widow of Zarephat...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Comfort To You My Child

Wednesday March 22 Bible Reading:      Jer. 9: 17 - 22 Topic:          Comfort To You My Child Our reading today falls within the section of the prophecy of Jeremiah where he bitterly laments the terrible judgments about to be inflicted upon his countrymen because of their sins (9: 1 - 9) Judah shall be utterly desolated and the inhabitants transplanted into heathen Countries (vs. 10 - 17). The judgment will be so severe that they would not be able to mourn adequately for the disaster that would befall them, therefore in allusion to an ancient custom, they are called upon to invite a band of professional wailing women who will be paid to help them lament over the ruins of Jerusalem (vs. 17, 18) In our lives, we sometimes experience sorrow due to loss or remorse for sin. Today a word of comfort is coming to you from the Throne of Mercy. God allows sor...
