Friday September 1 Bible Reading:      Col. 2: 16 - 23 Topic:                   Righteousness Without Christ Paul addresses the worship of Angels, eating/abstinence from certain foods and drinks, undue emphasis on special days or worship e.t.c. which some use as yardsticks for measuring true spirituality. These observances give a false sense of righteousness, spiritual satisfaction and humility towards God. Sometimes, people misunderstand this passage to mean that Paul is authorizing Christians to live carelessly. The Holy One of Israel is so Holy that His Eyes cannot behold sin and iniquity and that was why He sent His Only Begotten Son to die on the Cross for the sins of the world and to reconcile mankind to the God-Head. That reconciliation brought about a temperance yet to be equaled because whenever we sin "we have an Advocate in Heaven, Jesus Christ the Righteous and He is the Propitiation for our sins" God loathes sin but He surely does love the sinner and does not wish that any should perish in their sins.
