Daily Fountain 2017 - Live Out Your New Life In Christ

Tuesday June 13 Bible Reading:      1 Peter 4:   1 - 6 Topic:          Live Out Your New Life In Christ Peter challenged the audience of his letter to a life patterned after that of Christ, who went through physical suffering, bore the pain of crucifixion on Calvary's Cross. It is this attitude of suffering in Christ that those who follow Him should emulate in life. We should no longer live our lives for ourselves. It is not normal to be joyous during suffering or trials; but James 1: 2-3 enjoins us to look forward to the future benefits or outcome of our present trials and thereby receive some soothing balm for our present sufferings. We are to "count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations" James 1: 2. The result of the change we have experienced of the new life should spur us to not allow the old or former things to continue in us (2 Cor. 5:...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Like Barnabas, Be Devoted To God's Work

Monday June 12 (St. Barnabas the Apostle) Bible Reading:      Acts 11: 19 - 30 Topic:          Like Barnabas, Be Devoted To God's Work In today's reading, much was said about a man called Barnabas ("son of consolation). He was sent by the Church in Jerusalem to visit the Church at Antioch. He comforted and encouraged the new converts to hold on to their new found faith and never give up. Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith. Through the grace of God upon his life, many people were added to the Lord. When he saw the great and open door at Antioch, he went down to Tarsus to bring Paul so that they both could hand the work together. They worked hard in Antioch for a whole year. No wonder the believers in Antioch were the first to be called "Christians" showing the impact of the joint Ministry of Paul and Barnabas there. Looking ...

Daily Fountain 2017 - The Fellowship Of The Believers

Wednesday June 7 Bible Reading:      Acts 2: 42 - 47 Topic:          The Fellowship Of The Believers The early Church born on the Day of Pentecost like a new born baby needed to grow in number and quality. They knew this early and took the right measures to achieve this. They devoted themselves to the Apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. They were all united and shared what they had. They met every day in the Temple courts and in house cells where they shared and enjoyed meals together with glad and sincere hearts. God added to their number new Christians daily. Christian leader, it is your duty to maintain God's flock and shield them from predators through sincere and sound teaching, constant fellowship, holy communion, prayer, sharing things in common, giving generously, sharing and spreading love, caring for one another and attracting o...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Growth Through Fellowship

Tuesday June 6 Bible Reading:      Acts 2: 25 - 41 Topic:          Growth Through Fellowship About 3000 people gave their lives to Christ when Peter preached the Good News about Christ on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem. These new Christians were united with the other believers taught by the Apostles and included in the prayer meetings and fellowship. New believers in Christ need to be in groups where they can learn God's Word, pray and mature in the faith. Those who come to Jesus newly should seek out other believers for fellowship, prayer and teaching. That is the way for them to grown What are you doing in your little corner to encourage people to come to Christ or to ensure that new converts do not get discouraged? Are you holding tight to what God has given to you instead of using it to build up His Church? Many youths have left for "greener pa...
