Daily Fountain 2017 - By Strength Shall No Man Prevail

Thursday September 14 Bible Reading:     1 Sam. 2: 1 - 11 Topic:                  By Strength Shall No Man Prevail When Hannah dedicated Samuel to the Lord at Shiloh, she expressed her gratitude to God in prayer. This time, her prayer was not that of petition but praise (v. 1). Her heart rejoiced and her horn was lifted high. The Lord did it for her. Weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning (Ps. 30: 5) May this also be your experience in any matter for which you are waiting on the Lord. In her song of praise, she recognized the futility of man's effort without God and the Sovereignty of God in her life and situation. Her experience of barrenness gave her the priviledge of seeing different Attributes of God. In. vs. 2 - 8. she saw God as Rock, Omniscient, Omnipotent and a Perfect Judge. What would your song of prai...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Where Is Your First Love?

Monday July 17 Bible Reading:      Rev. 2: 1 - 7 Topic:                   Where Is Your First Love? Jesus' message to the Christians in Ephesus shows that God keeps details of our relationship with and service for Him. God was pleased with their hard work and patience, their faith, their intolerance of sin, and for identifying and keeping away from those who claimed there were apostles but were not as well as their willingness to suffer for Christ. Unfortunately, despite all their good works, they had left their first love. They prioritized their work for God over their relationship with Him. God calls us first into a relationship with Him, and so all we do for Him ought to flow from that relationship. Unfortunately, we value what we do for God more than God Himself. Jesus called the disciples t...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Be Alert In The Spirit

Tuesday May 30 Bible Reading:      2 Kings 2: 7 - 18 Topic:          Be Alert In The Spirit We often express desires but lack the courage to carry them through into action. Elisha knew what he wanted from his Master and was determined to obtain it. He left everything to follow Elijah even when one could describe the action as reckless courage (1 Kings 19: 19 - 21). Crossing the river Jordan without knowing how he would return was enough to prove to Elijah that he was highly determined and so after Elijah asked him to make his request (v. 9) Elisha's request for the double portion of his Master's Spirit proved that he desired to continue and go higher in the spiritual footsteps of Elijah. He saw Elijah taken up - which was the condition for the blessing - and he received what he asked for. God sees our hearts, knows when we are serious in our prayer request and the faith with...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Let There Be Light

Thursday May 4 Bible Reading:      Gen. 1 : 1 - 13 Topic:          Let There Be Light In the beginning, God spoke into darkness that covered the surface of the earth saying "let there be light" and light appeared. This darkness is not just ordinary darkness at night; it also signifies a troubled and confused state of mind, a life outside of Christ. This is why we can have uninterrupted power supply and yet live lives full of the darkness of sin The good news is that God can give you light through His Word. Psalm 119: 130 tells us that the entrance of God's Word light and His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Ps. 119: 105) We can speak God's Word into our dark situations and light will appear. John 8: 12 also tells us that Jesus is the Light of the world and if we follow Him, we will not walk in darkn...

Spiritual Entrepreneurs

Written by:     Mike Johnson If you insist on mapping out your own strategy, you will miss the intended goal, and the real joy of participating in His plan. As an entrepreneur, seeking to know God's will in your life, and adjusting your life to it, looks different from developing your own personal action plan. Here are several guidelines for discerning God's will in most any situation: First, plan in advance to respond to God and to others in respect and obedience. This practice will sharpen your faith and patience. There is no point in seeking God's will if you are not committed to obeying it. (Luke 6:46) Your replies are the foundation of long term relationships, which are crucial in future growth and development spiritually and in the business world. Let God into your heart and become a vessel unto Him. Second, be prepared to wait. Patience is key to listening and acknowledging what God is saying to you. Knowing when to do something is ...
