The action of the men of Sodom (v5, 9) confirmed what the Lord was looking for and proved beyond all reasonable doubt that the inhabitants of the two cities were vile, unreasonable and unrepentant perverts. Most cultures take good care of visitors and their safety is considered of utmost importance. No wonder Lot was ready to sacrifice his two daughters for the good of his visitors (vs. 7, 8) Unfortunately the sins committed by men in today's cities and villages are no less wicked or vile. Gay marriage has been legalized in some Countries. Bestiality (sex with animals), sodomy and lesbianism have gripped many nations and are now considered a part of human rights.
