Daily Fountain 2017 - 1210 - Blessed Is He Who Does God's Word

Thursday October 12 Bible Reading:     James 1: 19 - 27 Topic:                  Blessed Is He Who Does God's Word Many today claim to know the Word of God, but find it too hard to relate to the Mind of God and apply it to their daily Christian life. Why? it is because they hear the Word of God as it comes but fail to put it into practice. They deceive themselves. They paint a different picture of what they really are. We see them preach the Word but do not live it out. They exchange with others the sign of peace but are not really at peace with themselves. They can recite the Scriptures but are unable to maintain a dynamic relationship with God. In the Church today, many claim to have faith but there are no good works to attest to that. They hear from God but do not act on the Word that reveals God's Will. They wander about perplexed and unfulfilled...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Comforting Oneself With Evil

Saturday July 15 Bible Reading:      Gen. 27: 41 - 46 Topic:                   Comforting Oneself With Evil When Esau saw that he had lost the blessing to his devious brother, he comforted himself with an evil plan to murder him after the death of their father. Rather than reverse his own misfortune, the only effect of his crime would be to deny both his brother and himself their father's blessing. On her part, Rebekah continued to cunningly manipulate her husband Isaac for the benefit of her favoured son. She decided to send Jacob to Laban her brother for his safety from Esau's murderous plan but convinced Isaac that it was to prevent him from marrying one of the pagan women like Esau had done. Rebekah was neither repentant of using human strategies to achieve divine purposes not was she prepared to give up schemi...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Who Is Qualified For The Blessing

Wednesday July 12 Bible Reading:      Gen. 27: 1 - 17 Topic:                   Who Is Qualified For The Blessing? Many have blamed Isaac for wanting to bless Esau for the wrong reasons - because he ". . . ..   . . . loved Esau because he ate of his game" (Gen. 25: 28) Some blame Rebekah for manipulating her husband to accomplish God's purpose. Yet others blame Jacob for going along with his mother's ungodly plan. However though they were all wrong in manipulating situations for their selfish ends, it is clear that the blessing was meant for Jacob. Esau had spurned his birthright for a plate of porridge (Gen. 25: 32); and God would not bestow His blessings on those who would not value it. Rebekah knew the prophesies God gave even before the twins were born (Gen. 25: 23) but lacked the faith to trust God to bring them to pa...

Daily Fountain 2017 - Confidence Attracts God's Covenant Blessing

Saturday July 8 Bible Reading:      Gen. 26: 1 - 11 Topic:                   Confidence Attracts God's Covenant Blessing There was another famine in the land as in the days of his Father Abraham, and Isaac moved to the land of the Philistines, probably on his way to Egypt. God appeared to him and instructed him to stay in Gerar. He promised to be with him and He was with his Father Abraham (vs. 2 - 3) Though Isaac obeyed God and stayed in Gerar, like his Father before him, he lied about the relationship with his wife, saying she was his sister because he did not trust God for his protection. Inspite of him, God was gracious to him and prevented anyone from compromising his wife. Though Abimelech was deeply unhappy with him for his dishonesty when he discovered the truth, he still moved to protect Isaac and his family by charging those...
