Daily Fountain 2017 - 0710 - Servants And Slaves

Saturday October 7

Bible Reading:     1 Pet. 2: 15 - 25
Topic:                  Servants And Slaves

A servant is a person who serves another out of choice or one who is a hired worker or someone who chooses to be at the disposal of another out of deference. (1 Sam. 24: 41)

On the other hand, a slave is a person bound in servitude to another human being as an instrument of labour or one who has lost his liberty and has no rights.

The watchword for every servant whether voluntary or forced is submission at all times to his Master.

Most times servants are not treated with any regards at all. That was the reason behind Peter's instruction, not only to those who are good and considerate but also to those who are harsh (v. 18)

Nobody on earth is actually free. We are all servants or slaves to either sin or righteousness (Rom. 6: 16 - 18). Whose slave are you?

Paul spoke of himself as a servant and slave of Christ (Rom. 1: 1; Titus 1: 1).

Christians are not hired servants, but slaves committed to the service of Jesus. A slave does not manage his own life, rather his life is controlled by his Master.

Many are comfortable with Jesus being their Saviour but have never had Him as their Lord.

Therefore surrender your life completely to Jesus and make Him lord and Saviour of your life.

Prayer
Lord, I surrender unto You. Help me to serve You as You would want me to, Amen.

Memory Verse             1 Pet. 2: 18
"Servants, be subject to your Masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle but also to the froward."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
