Bible Reading: Rom. 12: 9 - 21
Topic: Doing Things That Make A Big
Difference
From the text we have
read, there is a dire need for us to always live to draw to God the souls of
our family members, relatives, friends, colleagues and neighbours by doing
practical things that are pleasing to God and that can make the big difference
in the world.
These include
1. avoiding hypocrisy (v. 9)
2. being kind and affectionate (v. 10)
3. giving preference to one another (v. 10)
4. being hospitable (v. 13)
5. returning good for evil (v. 15)
6. seeing to others needs and feelings (v. 15)
7. being of the same mind (v. 16)
8. treating others respectfully (v. 17
9. living peaceably with all men (v. 18)
10. leaving vengeance for God (vs. 19 - 21)
Let us not be ignorant of
the fact the call to us to make the big difference on earth is very timely and
it is for God's Kingdom.
It will not cost us anything
other than doing little things that are good and godly. These things can help
bridge the gap in the life of a Christian and transform his ugly situations.
They can help win the
hearts of people around us and save souls from perishing.
How often we find it hard
to do this and so we struggle with our faith. Let us arise and turn a new leaf
as we continue our sojourn on the earth.
Prayer
Almighty God, teach us to
love and appreciate one another so as to make the Society a better place, Amen.
Memory Verse Rom. 12: 19
"Dearly Beloved,
avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written,
Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, saith the Lord."
