Tuesday August 15
Bible Reading: Rev. 12: 13 - 17
Topic: Divine Deliverance
The devil now makes three
vicious attempts to destroy the woman and her children.
These are pursuing the
woman (v. 13) raising a flood of water to sweep her away (v. 15) and making war
against the rest of her offspring (v. 17).
It is comforting to note
that in each case the Lord provided divine deliverance (vs. 14 - 16)
Frustrated by his
inability to destroy the woman, the devil responds by making war against the
woman's people.
This teaches us two truths
1. Though defeated by Christ on the Cross of Calvary, he (the
devil) still wars against Christ's people through persecution, trials, health
challenges and other difficulties (1 Pet. 5: 8)
2. The devil may not attack you because you are spiritually strong
but he may try to get you through those related to you.
This is why it is
important to stand in the gap for our families and friends that they may not
fall victim to the attacks of the enemy.
Whatever is the case, we
should stand fast in our faith, knowing that God will surely deliver us (1 Pet.
5: 9 - 10)
Prayer
O Lord, enable me to be in
You always so that each time the enemy comes against me like a flood, I will
see You raise a Standard against him, Amen.
Memory Verse Rev. 12: 17
"And the dragon was
wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which
keep the Commandment of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ"
