Daily Fountain 2017 - Faithful God

Thursday August 17

Bible Reading:     Ezra 2: 1 - 19
Topic:                  Faithful God

This passage gives a long list of the families of the first set of exiles who returned from the captivity in Babylon, led by Zerubbabel the Governor and Jeshua the High Priest (v. 2; Neh. 7: 7; Haggai 1: 14)

Those mentioned in verse 2 were probably the leaders of the returning exiles. Each returned to his own town (v. 1)

The Babylonian exile had been a very humiliating experience for Israel as a Nation. A large number of the people died by the sword or from starvation (Jer. 52: 10 - 11). Others were forced into exile to different cities in the vast Babylonian Empire. Only the very poor were left in the land probably under worse conditions than those who had been exiled (Jer. 52: 15 - 16)

Yet after 70 years of desolation, the Faithful God remembered them and fulfilled His promises, "bore them on eagles' wings" and brought them back to their homeland (v. 1; Isa. 43: 5)

This same God remains faithful even today. You may have been humiliated, harassed or subjected to some form of captivity because of disobedience in your life.

No matter what these may be or how long they may have lasted, put yourself on the side of the redeemed and believe God for complete restoration

Prayer
O God, help me to have faith in You always, Amen.

Memory Verse             Ezra 2: 1
"Now, these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away when Nebuchadnezzar the King of Babylon had carried them away unto Babylon and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, everyone to his own city."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
