Wednesday August 9
Bible Reading: Rev. 11: 1 - 6
Topic: Judgement Begins In God's
House
We note two things in
today's text
(i) the measuring of the Temple, Altar and Worshippers (v. 1)
(i) the measuring of the Temple, Altar and Worshippers (v. 1)
(ii) activities of the supernatural witnesses
(v. 3)
Measuring here is seen as
judgement symbolized by the reed/rod (2 Sam. 7: 14; Ps. 89: 32); judgement must
begin in the House of God (1 Pet. 4: 17)
The Temple in Jerusalem is
the starting point and God's chosen people, the Jews, the first.
The issue of which Temple,
Solomon's, Zerubbabel's or Herod's is irrelevant here.
God is only interested in
the human component of the Temple, Temple Administrators, Priests and
Congregation.
The Jews, God's chosen
people will face the judgement first and then all others.
Are you ready to appear
before the judgement seat of Christ? (2 Cor. 5: 10). Take heed to yourself how
you live your life.
Events surrounding the
supernatural witnesses (v. 3) shows that God has ultimate power.
Satan 'overcomes' the
Saints only with divine consent and to achieve a divine purpose. The life of
God's child is in His Hands (Matt. 10: 15, 17 - 18; Job 1: 12; 2: 6)
The Christian's life is
hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3: 3), so Christians need not fear the fiery
darts of satan
Prayer
Father give the grace to
persevere and to be a partaker of Your divine priviledges, Amen.
Memory Verse Rev. 11: 1
"And there was given
me a reed like unto a rod: and the Angel stood, saying, Rise and measure the
Temple of God, and the Altar, and them that worship therein."
