Thursday August 3
Bible Reading: Rev. 8: 1 - 5
Topic: Silence In Heaven
God does not desire the
death of the wicked (Ez. 33: 11).
He is loving.
The thirty minutes silence
in heaven at the opening of the seventh seal may symbolize mourning for the
many deaths at the opening of the sixth seal (Rev. 6: 15 - 17).
Secondly the horrors of
the sixth seal judgment probably induced the massive conversion of the
tribulation saints and the thirty minutes silence could be extended opportunity
for more converts to show up.
Wise people take due
advantage of every good opportunity to repent.
Before the first trumpet
sounds, an Angel with a golden censer had the opportunity to mingle incense
with the prayers of the saints (vs. 3 - 5). Contents of the prayers are not
known, but, remember that we have a Mediator Jesus Christ, making intercessions
to the Father on behalf of the saints. "Seeing then that we have a Great
High Priest, Who has passed through the Heavens, let us therefore hold fast our
confession for we have a High Priest Who sympathizes with our weaknesses"
(Heb. 4: 14 - 15)
We have a Friend in Jesus!
Prayer
Father teach me to always
come boldly before Your Throne of grace that I may obtain mercy and fine grace
to help in time of need, Amen.
Memory Verse Rev. 8: 5
"And the Angel took
the censer, and filled it with fire of the Altar, and cast it into the earth:
and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake."
