Tuesday January 24th
Bible Reading: Heb. 10: 26 - 39
Topic: As The Day Approaches
Yesterday we were reminded
of the finished Work of Christ at Calvary with the warning that if we sin
willfully, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.
Unfortunately many fail to
heed this warning.
If we are wise to read the
signs of the times, we will know by the things we see and hear that the
"Day" is fast approaching.
We should also be mindful
of what the Bible says ought to be our manner of life as the "Day"
approaches.
We should hold fast to the
fact that the Blood of Jesus did not only offer us remission of sin but also
gives us bold access to God, a new and living way of life which he consecrates
for us in His Flesh.
Having done that, we are
to hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, consider one
another, spurring and stirring up one another unto love and good works.
Finally we should be
mindful of the company we keep because it matters a lot, knowing that iron
sharpens iron.
We should therefore take
care to commune with people of God on regular basis.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, please grant
that I should continually access Your Throne of Grace through the merits of
Christ our Saviour, Amen
Memory verse: Heb. 10: 31
"It is a fearful
thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God."
