Bible Reading: Heb. 5: 7 - 14
Topic: Dull Of Understanding
In this passage, the
Writer of the Epistle who was writing to Jewish converts from Judaism, details
the Excellency of Jesus' Priesthood.
In his words. Jesus'
prayer was heard because of His reverent submission to the Will of God even
unto death. (Heb. 2: 9 - 10)
This representation (vs.
12) was necessary because their spiritual growth has been impeded by their
response to the persecution they were facing at the time.
Because many were
considering making the unthinkable move to return to Judaism, he showed then
that Christ was Superior to both Moses and the priesthood of Aaron
How often do you study the
Bible?
Paul admonished Timothy to
study to show himself approved to avoid intellectual laziness and inability to
distinguish truth from error. (2 Tim. 2: 15; Acts 17: 11)
Psalm 91: 1 tells us that
"he that dwelleth in the Secret Place of the Most High shall abide under
the Shadow of the Almighty"; if you dwell in the Word of God, you will be
able to hear and understand the Will of God and as you obey Him, you will grow
spiritually and God will release His blessings on your life as "blessing
always follows obedience"
Prayer:
Father as we draw nearer
to Thee, may You give us Your grace to hear and understand from You in Jesus
Name
Amen
Memory verse: Heb. 5: 14
"but strong meat
belongeth to them that are of full age and even those who by reason of use have
their senses exercised to discern both good and evil"
