Bible Reading: Heb. 11: 30 - 40
Topic: The Route To Heaven
Through all generations,
the righteous go through severe experiences, many to the point of losing their
lives.
It was not easy for Noah
of whom God bore witness that he was a righteous man. It was not easy for
Abraham whom God called His friend. It was not easy for Jacob, Moses, David and
the Prophets.
Above all, it was not easy
for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Bible says about Him "For consider
Him Who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself ......." (Heb.
12: 3)
The route to Heaven is not
an easy road. The righteous are purified by it through the Baptism of
sanctification. "these all died in faith, not having obtained the promises,
but .... confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth"
(Heb. 11: 13 - 16)
They were not of this
world, Heaven is their home. (Phil. 3: 20)
Beloved, are you going
through a crushing phase in your life? Does it seem as if darkness and
hopelessness are all around you and that God is no longer interested in you?
Do not be utterly
dismayed, you will soon burst into songs of everlasting praise.
All things will become
new.
Prayer:
Lord keep me trusting you
till the end, Amen
Memory verse: Heb. 11: 39
"And these all,
having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise."
