Bible Reading: 1 Sam. 2: 1 - 11
Topic: By Strength Shall No Man
Prevail
When Hannah dedicated
Samuel to the Lord at Shiloh, she expressed her gratitude to God in prayer.
This time, her prayer was
not that of petition but praise (v. 1).
Her heart rejoiced and her
horn was lifted high. The Lord did it for her. Weeping may endure for the night
but joy comes in the morning (Ps. 30: 5)
May this also be your
experience in any matter for which you are waiting on the Lord.
In her song of praise, she
recognized the futility of man's effort without God and the Sovereignty of God
in her life and situation. Her experience of barrenness gave her the priviledge
of seeing different Attributes of God.
In. vs. 2 - 8. she saw God
as Rock, Omniscient, Omnipotent and a Perfect Judge.
What would your song of
praise to God say about Him?
Do you understand that any success in life and ministry comes from the Lord? He
allow crowns all your efforts with success.
Hannah understood this
face and praised God.
Christians must also
understand that "the race is neither to the swift nor the battle to the
strong" (Ecc. 9: 1)
Let us therefore live in
total dependence on God's sovereignty over our lives and situations.
Prayer
Lord please crown my
efforts with Your success, Amen.
Memory Verse 1 Sam. 2: 9
"He (God) will keep
the feet of His saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by
strength shall no man prevail."
