Bible Reading: Col. 4: 7 - 18
Topic: Committed Against Afflictions
Paul continues his closing
remarks in this epistle by acknowledging many brethren who had been faithful
alongside him in God's work.
He remembered to instruct
Archippus to fulfill the ministry (v. 17).
Paul was in prison when he
wrote this letter (v. 8), yet he was still committed and zealous in ensuring
that the brethren who were not in prison were appreciated and encouraged.
Can you demonstrate this
level of commitment today? Are you committed to the progress of God's work even
when you have troubles and problems? Have you withdrawn from the Church and
fellowship because people are not identifying with you in your problems? Learn
from Paul's example.
It is also important to
note that the brethren mentioned in today's passage had wonderful testimonies
of faithfulness where they worked. Luke was a Doctor and writer, Nympha gave her
house for fellowship, Ephaphras laboured in prayers.
God has placed us in
different places in the society to advance His Kingdom. We do not all have to
be full time ministers or evangelists to accomplish this.
Create a testimony in your
school, workplace or family that people will see and appreciate God's glory in
your life.
Prayer
Lord help me to remain
faithful in all places and situations in Jesus Name, Amen.
Memory Verse Col. 4: 12
"Epaphras, who is one
of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you
in prayers; that ye may stand perfect and complete, in all the Will of God."
