Bible Reading: Luke 1: 39 - 55
Topic: Dispenser Of Heavenly Grace
Mary was humble enough to
visit her Cousin, though chosen by Heaven to be the Mother of the Saviour of
mankind.
Elizabeth in v. 43 noted
this by saying "who am I that the Mother of my Lord should visit me."
This is unlike the
character of some men and women today when they receive blessings of promotion.
They suddenly become too proud to relate with others around them and even
attend Church activities.
This ought not to be so
Note also that in Luke 1:
41, when Elizabeth heard the sound of Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her
womb and she became filled with the Holy Spirit. The result of Mary's greeting
was an impartation of the Holy Spirit and a physical response from a human
womb.
What do you carry and
dispense to people around you?
So many people today
transmit hatred, gossips, divisions, rancour, criticisms and backbiting. Their
presence brings strife to peaceful environments, complaints to contented
families and hatred to peace loving communities.
Our society needs people
like Mary who will transmit the love and Spirit of God to others around them.
Prayer
Father help me to be
humble when I am promoted and to transmit Your grace to others around me, Amen.
Memory Verse Luke 1: 42
"And she (Elizabeth)
spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou (Mary) among women and
Blessed is the Fruit of thy womb."
