Daily Fountain 2017 - Go And Do Likewise

Sunday September 17

Bible Reading:     Luke 10: 25 - 37
Topic:                  Go And Do Likewise

The religious leaders of Jesus' day repeatedly came to Him with questions in order to test Him.

Why do you ask the questions you normally ask?, is it not to find out the truth or test people?

On this occasion, Jesus told the parable of the good Samaritan in response to a Lawyer's question.

The man who fell into the hands of robbers needed help. Unfortunately the two 'men of God' that came his way could not offer any, it was the Samaritan, foreigner, despised by Jews, who gave him the assistance that saved his life.

How often do you shy away from helping people, who need your assistance?

Jesus commended the Samaritan's action and recommended it for mankind.

Beloved, Christianity is not about knowing and quoting the Scripture, it involves practical demonstration of who we are and what we profess.

The Samaritan's compassion teaches the importance of showing love, mercy and making sacrifices to help the needy.

People are wary of helping people today because so many fraudsters pretend to be in need to gain money by deception. But we must not be discouraged.

Our faith in Christ must be expressed in good works.

Our good neighbourliness will save lives and expand the Kingdom of God here on  earth.

We must go and do likewise.

Prayer
O for grace to go and do likewise, Amen.

Memory Verse             Luke 10: 37
"And he (The Teacher of the Law) said, He that shewed mercy on him (the wounded Jew). Then Jesus said unto him, Go and do thou likewise."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
