Daily Fountain 2017 - Two Parallel Lines

Monday September 4

Bible Reading:     Col. 3: 5 - 11
Topic:                  Two Parallel Lines

My Mathematics Teacher taught me in Secondary School about parallel lines.

He drew them on the black board to illustrate that they have no intersection or meeting point.

Paul uses this concept to show the sharp distinction between the old and the new life.

The old life is characterized by animal impulses, sensual appetites, greed, covetousness, idolatry, immorality, rage, slander, anger, lying, ethnicity and divisions e.t.c. (vs. 5 - 7). Such behaviours expose people to the wrath of God (v. 6)

On the other hand, the new life is expected to be distinctly free from those vices and behaviours associated with the old man.

Both lifestyles have no meeting point.

The new life conforms to the Image of God in speech and character. This Biblical standard cannot change over the generations no matter the changing philosophies of men and governments.

It is unfortunate that some Christians have "imported" their old sinful lifestyles into their new faith. Such people might be fervent in fellowship, even zealous in preaching but their character does not depict the life of Christ. This ought not to be so.

Are you one of them?
Repent today! and crucify those old lifestyles under God so that the new life of Christ will radiate through you

Prayer
Father, may my life cause people to glorify You in Jesus Name, Amen.

Memory Verse             Col. 3: 5
"Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
