Bible Reading: Col. 4: 1 - 6
Topic: More Instructions For
Believers
Superiors usually give
instructions to those under them. The aim of such instructions is to enable
those under them to perform their work well and to free them from possible
problems.
In the last Chapter of
this Epistle, Paul gives six important instructions to the children of God.
First, he enjoins Christians
to treat those who work under them with fairness and equity remembering that
God is the Master over all men.
He also emphasized the
need to live a life of thanksgiving, with fervent prayers and watchfulness. Our
prayers should not only focus on our needs but also for the extension of the
Kingdom of God on earth. We are also to pray for boldness for Ministers and
Evangelists as they labour in God's Vineyard.
Paul also emphasized the
need for wisdom in our daily lives as we relate with others especially non-Christians,
discipline in time management and discretion in speech.
These instructions show
that Christians are not free to live anyhow they please. We must be aware of
our mission as Christ's Ambassadors, tasked with the responsibility of
representing God here on earth and extending His Kingdom.
Are you adhering to these
Biblical instructions?
Prayer
Lord, help me to be
committed to advancing the Gospel and also to radiate Your Nature in my
relationship with others, Amen.
Memory Verse Col. 4: 6
"Let your speech be
always with grace, seasoned with salt that ye may know how ye ought to answer
every man."
