Bible Reading: Rev. 6: 9 - 17
Topic: The Glory Surpasses The Pain
Two days ago, we saw that
the opening of the first four seals revealed God's judgment which included war,
conflict, famine and widespread death and destruction on the earth.
The opening of the fifth
seal in today's reading reveals the souls that were martyred for their faith
and testimony.
To their cry for justice
against those who were responsible, God responded with the gift of white robes
as they waited for the coming home of others who were yet to be martyred (vs. 9
- 11)
God knows about the
suffering, persecution and martyrdom of His children in all generations up till
now.
Their suffering is not in
vain, they will be rewarded when they meet their Father for Whom they suffered
too much.
Another encouragement is
that on the day that God will unleash terrible judgment on all wicked people,
none of them - royalty, rich, poor, slave, free - will be able to stand before
Him.
Only those who know the
Lord will escape.
Do you know Him?
It is not too late to make
sure today.
Jesus is waiting for you
Prayer
Oh Lord, as I journey
through this world, give me grace to focus on the glory that awaits me not minding
whatever trial I may go through, Amen.
Memory Verse Rev. 6: 9
"And when He had
opened the fifth seal, I saw under the Altar, the souls of them that were slain
for the Word of God, and for the testimony which they held"
