Bible Reading: Rev. 5: 1 - 14
Topic: Weep No More
We weep for a variety of
reasons --- bereavement, pain, sadness, frustration, hopelessness, despair,
e.t.c.
In today's passage, John
wept because no one in Heaven, on Earth or under the Earth was found worthy to
open the scroll in God's right Hand or even to look at it.
However one of the Elders
consoled John with this good news: "Do not weep. Behold the Lamb of the
tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to
loose its seven seals" (v. 5)
Christ prevailed at Calvary, wiping out "the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us and .... nailed it to the Cross ..."
Christ prevailed at Calvary, wiping out "the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us and .... nailed it to the Cross ..."
Beloved, there is no more
need to weep because Jesus has won the victory.
We should join the
Heavenly Choir in worship, singing: "Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain to
receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and
blessing"
And in gratitude, let us
strive to live worthy of our salvation in readiness for when the Lord will come
to take us home, where there will be no more weeping.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to look
beyond the things that trouble me now and focus on Christ in Whom is the hope
of my eternal salvation, Amen.
Memory Verse Rev. 5: 3
"And no man in heaven,
nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book neither to
look thereon."
