Bible Reading: James 1: 1 - 15
Topic: God Answers Prayers Of Faith
The epistle of James was
written specifically to the Jewish believers (1:1) and he opened it with an
encouragement to rejoice in their trials for God uses it to grow and mature
them in the faith.
If they lacked wisdom in
their situation, they should ask God for it in faith, without doubting, since
double-minded people receive nothing from God.
"He who doubts is
like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind" (v. 6)
To buttress this fact, Jesus
told us in Mark 11: 24 "Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe
that you receive them and you will receive them." (Mark 11: 24)
Beloved as you prepare for
the day, do not just pray as a matter of routine or a way of fulfilling all
righteousness; believe that your words count in the Ears of the King of kings
and He will honour them.
He has promised to answer
your prayers; you can rely on Him, you can trust Him because He will definitely
answer you.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, forgive me for thinking
You are too far from me as a result of my unbelief. From today, help me to
trust that You can do all things for me because I believe Your promises, Amen.
Memory verse: James 1: 5
"If any of you lack
wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth
not, and it shall be given him"
