Bible Reading: 1 Peter 1: 1 - 12
Topic: Live In Hope
A certain man suddenly
became blind; he was asked how he was coping with life and he answered "It
is like a dream from which I hope to wake up one day to see again"
Amazing!!! what a hope!
But if he is a Christian,
he has a better hope because Christian hope is to live with confidence in
newness and fullness of life and await the coming of Christ in Glory and the
completion of God's purpose for the World (Book of Common Prayer, pg 496)
The unsaved person is
without hope (Eph. 2: 12), but the believer has a living hope because he has a
Living Saviour. Christ is our Hope and we look for His soon-expected return.
The Christian does not
work for this hope, it is a part of his spiritual birth right.
This hope is not only a
living hope, it is also a lasting hope (vs. 4, 5). It is reserved in heaven
where it cannot decay or fade away.
Your present situation may
seem bad and hopeless, but ensure that you do not lose hope or lose your faith.
Keep your hope in Christ alive.
There is wonderful job
ahead of you even though you have to endure many trials and temptations for a
little while (v. 6)
Prayer:
My Father in Heave, give
me your grace to endure pain, hardships, trials and temptations as I hope for
the coming of Your Kingdom where moth and rut do not dwell, Amen.
Memory verse: 1 Peter 1: 7
"That the trial of
your faith being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be
tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the
appearing of Jesus Christ"
