Daily Fountain 2017 - Watch Your Tongue

Tuesday March 7

Bible Reading:     James 3: 1 - 12

Topic:         Watch Your Tongue

The tongue is a very small member of the body that can build or destroy based on how it is used.

As someone wisely said, the tongue has no bone but has the power to break a heart.

The uncontrolled tongue can do terrible damage.

A few words spoken in anger can destroy a relationship that took years to build.

James warns in today's reading that "no man can tame the tongue, it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison" (James 3: 8)

Only the Holy Spirit can give us the power to subdue the damaging effect of the tongue as we give Him Dominion over our lives and rule over our hearts.

As God's Word dwells richly in our hearts, we will be able to limit the negative use of our tongues.

The Holy Spirit will give us self control so that we can speak words that please God.

Before you utter a word, ask yourself these questions

1.      Is the word Edifying?

2.      Is it full of encouragement?

3.      Will it be gracious to the hearer?

4.      Will it glory God in Heaven? (Phil. 4: 8)

Remember that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it on the Day of Judgment (Matt. 12: 36 - 37)

Therefore watch your tongue

Prayer:
Dear Lord, enable me through Your Spirit to have control over my tongue, Amen.

Memory verse:   James 3: 2
"For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man and able also to bridle the whole body"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
