Bible Reading: James 3: 13 - 18
Topic: Seek God's Wisdom In All Things
The Bible says
"Wisdom is the principal thing, so get wisdom and in all your getting, get
understanding" (Prov. 4: 7)
Wisdom the right
application of knowledge is very important in every endeavour of man.
Two kinds of wisdom are projected
in today's text - earthly wisdom characterized by envy, bitterness and self
seeking (4 & 15) and wisdom from above which is "...... pure, then
peaceable, gentle, willing to yield full of mercy and good fruits without
partiality and without hypocrisy"
Beloved, God's kind of
Wisdom is a reflection of His Person and since we ought to strive to be like
our Father, we must wholeheartedly cry to Him for this wisdom from on high.
As James 1: 5 says
"if we lack wisdom, God will willingly give it to us if we ask Him without
doubting.
Jesus promises in Matt. 7:
8 that everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds....."
James also reminds us that
God is the Father of Lights from Whom every good and perfect gifts flow (James
1: 17)
He will willingly give us
the wisdom we need for daily living, if we ask in faith.
Prayer:
Father give me Your Wisdom
that I may live my life to honour You in all things, in Jesus Name, Amen.
Memory verse: James 3: 16
"For where envying
and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work"
