Bible Reading: James 2: 1 - 13
Topic: God Loves All Equally
In Leviticus 19: 15, the
Bible says "You shall do no injustice in judgment, You shall not be
partial to the poor, nor honour the
person of the mighty. In righteousness, you shall judge your neighbour."
James builds on this revelation when he warns against partiality to the rich and discrimination against the poor. He says "My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ the Lord of Glory with partiality" (v. 1)

Today we honour people
both in the Society and the Church based on their academic, social and financial
status and ignore the poor. James warns that to do this is to show
"partiality among ourselves and become judges with evil thoughts."
(v. 4)
Christians in general and
Ministers of God in particular need to ask God for grace to be impartial in dealing
with the high and mighty as well as those who are not priviledged with the same
godly mind, without running contrary to the Lord's dictates.
As a user of this
devotional, note the areas where you are guilty of this error and pray for
God's strength to do the right thing.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, give
me the courage never to be partial in whatever I do in Jesus Name, Amen.
Memory verse: James 2: 5
"Hearken my beloved
brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this World rich in faith, and heirs
of the Kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him? "
