Daily Fountain 2017 - 151117 - Watch That Conversation

Wednesday November 15

Bible Reading:     Eph. 5: 1 - 7
Topic:                  Watch That Conversation

As humans, we hardly go through a day without entering  into one conversation involving sharing of ideas, opinions, observations, sentiments e.t.c. with others.

Today Paul warns in v. 4 against indecent speech and dirty jokes unbecoming of a child of God.

We may not utter a word in an ongoing conversation, yet we may be guilty of smiling. For instance we should be mindful of so called comedians that make a mockery of our faith. To laugh over such coarse jokes is to partake in the sins of the ungodly comedian (Rom, 1: 32)

How do we control our conversation so that it does not become gossip, dirty and silly talk? We find the answer in the last part of v. 4 "... but rather giving of thanks"

Any conversation that does not result in thanksgiving to God should be avoided.

Jesus warns concerning every conversation of ours, "But I say unto you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement" (Matt. 12: 36)

Watch that conversation so that you do not sin against God

Prayer
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You always my Lord and Redeemer, Amen.

Memory Verse             Eph. 5: 2
"And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us as an Offering and a Sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
