Bible Reading: Phil. 1: 19 - 26
Topic: Fill In The Gap
In the objective test,
Teachers ask Students to fill in the gap with the correct answer from the options
given.
There can only be one
correct answer to each question because the answer is not based on the
Student's opinion but on facts that can be verified.
In. verse 21 Paul says
"For me to live is Christ .."
Before his personal
encounter with Jesus on the Damascus Road, if he had been asked to fill in the
gap "for me to live is ....? his answer would have been "the
law" because enforcing the law in Judaism was the greatest priority of his
life then.
However after the
encounter with the Risen Lord, old things passed away and all things became
new. Paul's whole purpose from that point on was to live for Christ and become
more like Him.
If asked to fill in the
gap, what would be your answer? - money? pleasure? treasure? power? popularity?
prestige? professional excellence?
Any answer other than
Christ is wrong.
Therefore if our answer is
anything other than to live for Christ, we must come to Christ for salvation
and determine like Paul to make Him the greatest priority in our lives.
Prayer
Father for me to live is
Christ, help me to make this my resolve always in Jesus Name, Amen.
Memory Verse Phil. 1: 21
"For me to live is
Christ and to die is gain."
