Daily Fountain 2017 - 251117 - Humbled To Be Exalted

Saturday November 25

Bible Reading:     Phil. 2: 5 - 11
Topic:                  Humbled To Be Exalted

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, …. 8 … He humbled Himself and became obedient to … death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him …

This passage is one of the most challenging in the entire Scripture.

Generally, we are all very protective of our reputation and would do all in our power to protect it when it is threatened.

However, Jesus who was sinless and perfect, and therefore had a reputation to protect, deliberately made Himself of no reputation.

In response to His obedience, humility and sacrifice, God exalted Him and gave Him a name to which everything in heaven, earth and below the earth bows and will continue to bow.

This passage teaches us that the only way up is down.

If we empty and humble ourselves before God, He will exalt us.

Jesus proved it, and so can we if we determine like Him to completely obey God in every area of our lives, without counting the cost.

Prayer
Lord, give us a heart of humility and obedience, just like Jesus! Amen.

Memory Verse             Phil. 2: 8
"And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross".

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
