Bible Reading: Rom. 5: 1 - 11
Topic: Fully Paid
A story was told of a
school boy from a very poor family. This boy was caught stealing another boy's
lunch bag - an offense that was highly abhorred by the School Authority. So he
was to face the School's disciplinary action.
As the Teacher brought out
the boy for his punishment, a bigger boy took pity on the little boy and
volunteered to take his punishment.
The Teacher considering
that the important thing was payment for the offense, punished the bigger boy
for the offense of the young thief.
Jesus did the same thing.
In our text we read that
"while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (v. 8).
We did not bargain with
Him to die for us but He saw our need and came to the rescue.
So live for Him Who died
for you by worshipping and serving Him with all you have and all you are.
That is how to thank Him
Who has fully paid your debt before God.
Prayer:
Lord, help me that all
through my life, I will live in appreciation of the debt You fully paid for me,
, Amen
Memory verse: Rom. 5: 8
"But God commandeth
His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us"
