Bible Reading: Rom. 8: 12 - 17
Topic: Joint-Heirs With Christ
A wealthy man with four
sons died without leaving a Will.
Following his death, they
needed Letters of Administration for the properties of the deceased so that
they would have the legal right to administer the properties in their own
names.
For this to happen, the
law requires the applicants to be at least 21 years of age.
Since the youngest child
was way below the legal age requirement and they could not/would not falsify
his age to make him qualify, the family had to wait for years for the last son
to reach the age of 21 years before they could process the application.
That is related to our
text for today. Believers are joint-heirs with Christ but we cannot inherit the
wealth of blessings God has in store for us without maturity since maturity in
Christ is very fundamental to the issue of inheritance.
How do we mature?
Through cumulative growth
over the years.
As we grow in the Lord and
mature in our understanding of His Principles, He is ready and willing to hand
over our inheritance to us.
Maturity will enable us to
handle these blessings properly and use them wisely.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to grow and
mature in You so that I may make effective use of all that You have in store
for me in Christ, Amen.
Memory verse: Rom. 8: 15
"For ye have not
received the Spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit
of adoption, whereby we cry Abba Father"
