Sunday February 19
Bible Reading: Psalms 77: 1 - 15
Topic: Meditate On God's Interventions
The Psalmist complained of
problems. It was so bad that he almost gave up hope or expectation of a better
tomorrow. But he took courage to hope for a better day by meditating on how God
had intervened in the troubles of His people in the past.
He therefore concluded
that God could change and would never keep quiet forever. He would surely help
him out of his troubles.
He did not complain to man
but to God, he sought God earnestly. It was after many vocal prayers that he
counted the past blessings and found courage in such meditation.
What do you do when
trouble comes?
When you are surrounded
with many problems or a very heavy one, what becomes of your Christian
attitude?
Have you made the mistake
of complaining to men instead of going to God in prayer?
Have you forgotten so soon all that the Mighty Hands of God had done for you in the past?
Have you forgotten so soon all that the Mighty Hands of God had done for you in the past?
If you forget God's past
interventions when you encounter problems, you will lose courage.
Learn to seek God while in
trouble and build your hope around what He had done in the past, appreciating
Him and testifying to His wonders.
Prayer:
My Father and My God, teach
me to learn how to appreciate You for the good things You had done in my life
in times past so that I may receive more good things for the present and the
future, Amen
Memory verse: Psalms 77: 9
"Hath God forgotten
to be gracious? Hath He in anger shut up His tender mercies?"
