Bible Reading: Romans 3: 1 - 8
Topic: Objection Overruled
Our topic today is a
normal language in a Court of Law, whenever a Lawyer objects to an issue, if
the Judge is not satisfied with the objection of the Lawyer he will usually say
"Objection overruled" - that is, the Lawyer's objection is rejected.
In our text we see the
objections of the Jews to the Gospel and the response of God through Paul to
the objections.
There are three objections
raised by the Jews that they don't need the Gospel:
1. The advantage of circumcision (v. 1) - an objection that was
overruled in v. 2
2. God's Covenant with the Jews is not annulled by the Gospel (v.
3) which is overruled in v. 4
3. Our sin is profitable because it magnifies the grace of God (v.
5) an argument overruled by the fact that God is a Sound and Sincere Judge.
All arguments and
objections of men to justify sinning and non-service to Him are all already
overruled.
What are your objections
to the Word of God?
They are all overruled.
May God give you the
humility to follow Him in His Ways and not to hurt your soul in eternal
damnation in the name of objections to the Word of God.
Prayer:
Lord, overrule all my objections
to Your Word, Amen
Memory verse: Romans 3: 3
"For what if some did
not believe?, shall their unbelief make the Faith of God without effect?"
