Bible Reading: Rom. 8: 1 - 11
Topic: Your Altitude Determines Your Attitude
History records that
before the invention of the aeroplane, Scientists did not believe that metals
could fly in the air because of the law of gravity.
But when an exception to
that rule was discovered, it produced the aircraft.
So, before the invention
of the aeroplane, the height (altitude) of reasoning of the Scientists was only
on the ground because that was the much they could see.
But when a superior,
scientific reasoning came up, they adjusted their thinking and behaved in a
more advanced way.
The same is applicable to
us from today's passage.
Some believers are so
carnal that they believe that it is not possible to live a sin-free, spiritual
and holy life every day. That is the altitude at which they operate and so
their attitude is carnal and shallow.
But to walk in the Spirit
by following the Word of God by grace through faith is an altitude that is an
exception to the gravitational force of the world system.
"Walk in the Spirit
and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh" (Gal. 5: 16); but if
you walk in the flesh, you will fall to the flesh.
The rule is strict, your
altitude determines your attitude
Prayer:
Lord, increase my
spiritual altitude so that my attitude to You will change positively, Amen.
Memory verse: Rom. 8: 1
"There is therefore now,
no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh
but after the Spirit"
