Daily Fountain 2017 - Breathe On Me Breath Of God

Saturday May 6

Bible Reading:     Gen. 2: 1 - 9
Topic:         Breathe On Me Breath Of God

Today's passage is a summary of the work of creation which was detailed in Genesis Chapter 1

Two important things emerge from this account.

First - when God finished His work of creation, He rested on the seventh day. He blessed and sanctified it as a day of rest.

Later when He gave the Children of Israel the Ten Commandments, He reiterated the need to have a rest day from all our labours.

If God saw it fit to declare a day of rest, we must understand that it is absolutely essential for us to rest for the good of our health.

Moreover as Christians we must also have the habit of gathering with others for worship and fellowship to 'recharge our spiritual batteries' for the coming week. This will help us to live as God's Children wherever we work.

Secondly - when God made man, He breathed into Him the breath of life and man became a living being.

Every living person derives life from God and we can only fully live as God intended if we understand that we cannot truly live apart from God.

Prayer:

Breathe on me Breath of God
Fill me with life anew
That I may love what Thou dost love
And do what Thou wouldst do
Amen

Memory Verse:   Gen. 2: 7

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
