Bible Reading: Gen. 14: 13 - 16
Topic: A Brother's Keeper
When Abram heard that his
nephew had been taken captive by the alliance of four Kings, he armed his 318
trained servants and went in pursuit of the people.
Abram attacked the Kings
and liberated all the captives taken from Sodom including the King and his
nephew Lot.
Abram had a house full of
trained soldiers who attended to other duties until they were needed for war.
This is an important
spiritual lesson.
The Lord wants us to be
combat ready always.
Paul enjoined Christians
should in Eph. 6: 10 - 18 to put on the whole Armour of God and stand in
readiness always for battle against all the powers of darkness.
We will be ready to avenge
all disobedience only as we walk in complete obedience.
We can do this by always
avoiding sin, praying continually, studying the Word of God, living out the
life of a true believer and witnessing
for Christ.
If you do these things,
you will be a battle ready Christian and you will never fall.
Prayer:
Stand up, stand up for
Jesus
Stand in His Strength alone
The arm of flesh will fail
you
You dare not trust your
own
Put on the Gospel armour
Each piece put on with
prayer
When duty calls or danger
Be never wanting there
Memory Verse: Gen. 14: 22
"And when Abram heard
that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his
own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan"
