Bible Reading: Gen. 5: 21 - 32
Topic: Walking With God
In today's passage, verse
2 says that Enoch walked with God and God took him straight to heaven without
his dying.
This shows that Enoch was
very intimate with God.
Walking with God means
living for God, obeying God in all things, loving what God loves.
Sometimes we claim to love
God and yet refuse to do His Will.
Walking with God also involves
identifying with God in all circumstances - both in good times and bad.
There are some who claim
to be Christians but only display their Christianity on Sundays during the
Church service; however on other days, in their work places, market places,
clubs and other businesses, they live as those who don't truly know God.
Their lives exhibit all
forms of ungodly behaviour as Paul listed in Gal. 5: 19 - 21
Paul enjoins us to walk in
the Spirit so that we will not exhibit those ungodly traits.
If we obey his
injunctions, we will bear the fruits of the Spirit - joy, love, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.
The Beauty of Jesus will
be seen in our lives to the Glory of God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, please help
me to walk in step with the Spirit, so that my life will please You and I may
live in constant communion with You, Amen
Memory Verse: Gen. 5: 24
"And Enoch walked
with God; and he was not, for God took him"
