Bible Reading: Gen. 14: 17 - 20
Topic: Consider It Worth Doing
Abram fought to rescue his nephew Lot who was captured
when Sodom, where he lived was subdued in battle.
Our environment, friends and associates influence our
lives and that of our families.
Many people today are in prison because of bad
company. Be mindful where you live and the company you keep because they can
make or mar your life.
Abram's sacrifice for the freedom of Lot is worth
emulating.
Considering his past experience with Lot (Gen. 13: 10
- 11), it would have been easily justified for him to attribute Lot's ordeal as
the consequence of his misconduct, but he showed genuine love and concern.
Be the Abram of your own family. Do your best to save
your relatives. Many of them are under the bondage of sin, your intervention is
greatly needed. Organize programs, if you can preach, show love and pray for
their salvation.
Check if there are some among them who are passing
through difficult times, including people who may have served you in the past.
Allow God to use you to rescue them.
As you do that, God will bless you as He blessed Abram
through Melchizedek. Just consider it worth doing.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, give me
the passionate desire to forgive, love and help those who need my help, Amen
Memory Verse: Gen. 14: 18
"And Melchizedek King
of Salem brought forth bread and wine; and he was the Priest of the Most High
God"
