Daily Fountain 2017 - A Call To Repentance

Thursday June 1

Bible Reading:     Joel 2: 12 - 17
Topic:         A Call To Repentance

Joel had lamented in Chapter 1 the devastating effect of the locust on the Nation's crops and vegetations (1: 4).

He likened the appearance of locusts to an invading army (1: 6)

He made the clarion call to sensitize the people to the need for personal repentance (2: 12-14) and called upon them to rend their hearts and not their garments and seek God's Face.

He also called for national repentance (2: 15-17) through prayer and fasting of all elders, children, suckling babies, nursing mothers, newly weds and priests to show its seriousness.

We are like in Joel's day experiencing such horrendous situations in Nigeria. Fuel price has been hiked to N145 per litre and this has adversely affected the cost of living and transportation. So have the prices of goods and commodities gone up.

Greed, avarice, sexual perversion, wanton living, murders have taken over the lives of many.

It is time for all who live in Nigeria to repent individually and collectively.

Are there ways in which you and I have contributed so far to Nigeria's present situation of chaos, anarchy, brigandage, corruption in all forms?

Prayer
Oh Lord, give us a heart of true repentance as individuals and as a Nation, Amen.

Memory Verse             Joel 2: 13
"And rend your hearts and not your garments and turn unto the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness and repenteth Him of the evil."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
