Bible Reading: Joel 2: 18 - 27
Topic: God's Mercy And Faithfulness
2 Chronicles 7: 14 states
"If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray
and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven
and will forgive their sins and heal their land"
Joel had stated in 2: 13 that God "is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness and relents from doing harm"
Joel had stated in 2: 13 that God "is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness and relents from doing harm"
Immediately God saw the
genuineness of the heart of the people seeking Him, He promised to
i. send them grain, new wine and oil (i.e. food in abundance)
ii. remove their reproach and shame among the Nations
iii. remove far from them any military threats
iv. give food for the domestic wild animals, through restoration of
vegetation
and
v. restore rain at its right time (i.e. no more famine)
It is true that God is the
same today, Who will never forsake us although in love He chastises us if we go
astray.
He is always ready to
restore us to fellowship with Him if only we repent and seek Him truly.
Is there any sin
preventing you from reaching God? If the answer is positive, then you are to
call upon Him now, He is ready to rescue you.
Prayer
Dear Lord forgive my sin
and take away every reproach from me and remember to bless me, Amen.
Memory Verse Joel 2: 25
"And I will restore
to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm and the caterpiller
and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you."
