(St. Peter the Apostle)
Bible Reading: Matt. 16: 13 - 20
Topic: Who Do Men Say That I Am?
Today is St. Peter's Day.
We have an opportunity to
remember and reflect on the life and ministry of Apostle Peter.
Once Jesus asked His
disciples "Who do men say that I am?"
He received different
answers; and He then pressed for what the disciples thought about Him (v. 15),
"Who do you say that I am?"
"You are the Christ,
the Son of the Living God" replied Peter (v. 16) Jesus blessed him and
said this is a revelation from God and on this truth, "I will build My
Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it".
Christ is the Rock upon
which the Church is built.
Like Peter do you actually
know Who Jesus is"
Have you helped to open
the eyes of other to the true identity of Christ?
Have you confessed Jesus
as your Lord and Saviour?
Someone has rightly
observed this Jesus question as the most dramatic and life's important
question. It is life. It is the one question every man, every woman should
answer for it is on it that our life and destiny hang.
No man can and should
avoid or ignore answering it. On it will be determined whether a man goes to
heaven or hell.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY
WAY, the Truth and the Life; no one can be saved and no one can go to God
except through Him.
Apostle Peter says of this
in Acts. 4: 12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other
name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Dear Reader, Who is Jesus
to you?
Prayer
Help me O God to know and
confess that Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of the Living God, Amen.
Memory Verse Matt. 16: 17
"And Jesus answered
and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath
not revealed it unto thee but My Father which is in Heaven."
